A Visit From The Hawk and Owl Trust

The Eco Committee was very excited about the visit from Chris Sperring on Monday, and finding out about how to support our owl population at Hazlegrove.
Chris gave such an interesting talk to the Prep School children about owls, and we were all particularly impressed by his owl impressions! The senior members of the Eco Committee were proud to escort Chris around the Hazlegrove grounds and together identify where to put owl boxes and how to develop our wild spaces to encourage insect and small animal growth as well as support the owl ecosystem. With Chris’s guidance, we are planning to build and put up two owl boxes for little owls and two for tawny owls. Our fingers are crossed that the owls will like these houses and decide Hazlegrove is for them. A huge thank you to the Friends of Hazlegrove for making this possible, through their kind donation to the Hawk and Owl Trust.
