Year 7 Production of Just So

The Year 7 Production, ‘Just So’ was an outstanding success, showcasing the immense talent and creativity of all those involved.

From the initial rehearsals to the final curtain call, the entire process reflected the dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm of the young performers. One of the key highlights of the production was the way the students embraced their roles, both on and off the stage. Whether performing, working behind the scenes, or supporting with props and lighting, each student demonstrated a sense of responsibility and collaboration. The seamless transitions between scenes, the impeccable timing of lines, and the professional approach to stagecraft were well beyond what is typically expected at this level. Many commented on the confidence of the performers, noting that they handled their lines and roles with maturity beyond their years. Therefore, a HUGE well done to all the Year 7s. They were amazing.  

The Play's script was a compelling mix of humour, drama, and important life lessons. The narrative struck a balance between lighthearted moments and deeper themes, ensuring that it resonated with the entire audience. Behind the scenes, the technical and stage crew, also made up of Year 8 pupils, managed the lighting, sound, props, makeup and transitions seamlessly. Their efforts ensured the performance ran smoothly and without any interruptions.  

The Play was more than just a performance; it was an educational experience that fostered teamwork, self-confidence, and creativity. Many felt a sense of accomplishment after the show, proud of what they had achieved together. For some, this was their first time performing on stage, and the success of the Production has undoubtedly inspired them to pursue further involvement in drama. 

The Year 7 was a shining example of the potential young people have when given the opportunity to express themselves artistically. The success of the event reflects the hard work of the pupils, teachers, and support staff, and it has set a high standard for future productions. The School community looks forward to seeing more from these talented students in the years to come. Thank you to parents for all your support with the Show.
