Year 1 get Stuck Into Christmas Activities

Baking Christmas gingerbread seemed the perfect way to end off a fabulous term in Year 1.

We know the story of “The Gingerbread Man” well and enjoyed a cross-curricular (English, Maths and Science) lesson, working in groups to read the recipe, weighing and measuring the ingredients we needed to make the delicious dough. Rolling, baking and decorating were the next jobs to be done with festive cheer as gingerbread smells wafted around the classroom. In maths, we worked on telling the time this week and enjoyed finishing off our Christmas cards. Tuesday’s Christmas party day was great fun with party games and a yummy Christmas lunch. Our fun did not stop there with our last forest school session on Wednesday afternoon. We saved the best for last!
